The arrival of Ganpati in homes and community pandals, celebrated with daily aarti for a period chosen by the household — commonly one and a half, five, seven or ten days — ending in visarjan.

Who invites whom
Families invite relatives and neighbours for darshan and aarti at home; mandals invite their locality to the pandal.
Timing & dates
Two weeks is generous for a home celebration. Mandals often announce earlier because of the scale of the programme.
2026–27 date guidance
Ganesh Chaturthi falls in the month of Bhadrapada, usually in late August or September. In 2027 it falls in September. The sthapana muhurat is calculated for the day — confirm with your family's purohit.

The ceremonial immersion of the idol at the end of the chosen period.
